Turning 25 was a formative year for me. I wouldn’t say it was the best year of my life, but there were many memorable experiences from which I gleaned bits of wisdom.
- There is such a thing as a quarter-life crisis.
- Moving back home with your parents can lead to a lot of emotional and social conflict. It’s perfectly normal. I even read a thesis on it.
- I am old enough to take the reins and do things on my own.
- Journaling is a great form of therapy.
- Sleep is better than coffee.
- You don’t have to participate in every social media challenge or speak on every current event/hashtag. Not everyone has to know your opinion. It’s your opinion.
- It’s okay if the memory isn’t documented with an iPhone photo.
- Consumer culture is dangerous to the environment, the people, and yourself. Shop smart. Be content with what you already have.
- Make the most of your traveling experiences.
- I have a lot more privilege than I thought.
- Be specific in your prayers.
- Letting the Holy Spirit guide your life is an active choice you have to make every day.
- God created everyone to be creative.
- Be thankful for the little everyday things.
- God’s timing is too perfect.
- Senioritis in PT school exists.
- Always read the question twice.
- Plan ahead. Have a Game Plan.
- Lack of confidence can stem from a lack of competence, so study up + practice your skills.
- Active recall is a powerful study tool.
- It is possible to have wholesome, virtual fun with friends.
- There’s a science to happiness.
- Don’t take second chances for granted.
- Follow your creative gut.
- COVID-19 is real. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and stay inside if you can.
Self reflection has been really important in my personal growth. I’m grateful to live another year on earth. I have a feeling 26 will be a good year for me. In the mean time, I will be enjoying the Christmas season with my family.
