Inspired by Jenn Im’s “My 30 Before 30 List” there is no time like the present to start listing long term goals and aspirations. While I’m not sure if this will be adopted as my 2021 resolutions, I feel like these tasks are within reach before I turn 27:
Physical Therapy Goals
- Pass the NPTE
2. Graduate with my DPT
3. Get a job as a licensed PT
4. Write for the APTA
5. Find a mentor
Things to do if COVID precautions are lifted
6. Go back into the dating pool
7. Attend at least 1 music concert
8. Spend the day at an art museum
9. Travel internationally
Adulting Goals
10. Cook [not bake] something new at least once a month
11. Learn to play at least 3 songs on the piano (BONUS points if I memorize them)
12. Start budgeting
13. Cancel my iCloud subscription service
14. Start using Notion for
- book notes
- webinar takeaways
- movie and TV show watchlists
15. Get my dual citizenship
16. Rearrange my bedroom
17. Make my undergrad T-shirt quilt
Social Media #goals
18. Learn to edit YouTube videos from my external hard drive
19. Get a paid sponsorship on Instagram
20. Become GIPHY approved
Feel Good goals
21. Be more self-less (i.e. take more initiative to help my parents around the house)
22. Read more (magazines, books, research articles)
23. Write in my journals more
24. Be a better dog owner
25. Support a small or local business at least once a month
26. Be more environmentally conscious
I’ll do my best to cross things off my list as I accomplish these things, but I also don’t expect myself to complete all of them by my next birthday as some are influenced by environmental factors beyond my control. Also, some of these goals are life long aspirations (e.g. my feel good goals).
I like making tasks lists so I can keep my scattered brain focused on one thing, and I hope this inspires you to create goals for yourself in the new year. What are some things in your long-standing to-do list that you want to accomplish within the next year? Leave them in the comments!
