Boyyyyyy do I have some new discoveries for you to watch! If you’re a fan of Kelly Clarkson, you’re going to enjoy this. If you love singing, keep reading! If you like trivia games, this article is for you! If you like unconventional cooking, there’s a video for you! I have been watching all sorts of videos from different channels, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
The Kelly Clarkson Show
Say WHAT? The FIRST American Idol champion is now a talk show host! I don’t know which broadcast network she’s airing from, but the YouTube segments will do just fine. She’s has a big personality that is made for TV hosting. She is already giving back to the community. She’s pretty much Ellen DeGeneres with a big country accent and a phenomenal singing voice. I’ll be tracking her to see where she takes the show, but if there’s a video that sums up the personality of the show, it’s this one:

Web Series
There a lot of different series/segments big channels and media corporations have on YouTube, and they are very entertaining. Videos a part of the series can be daily, weekly, or monthly, but the purpose of all these videos is esentially marketing/press for the artists, content creators, and/or public figures as well as the company behind the channel. These series have cumulated millions of views – some even become trending videos. Here’s some web series I’ve been binge watching over the past week. The playlist is hyperlinked in the title.
Song Association
I have always seen these videos in my recommended section, but I never clicked to watch them because I didn’t think “Song Association” would be a game. I thought it would be an artist talking about their music [which is also interesting, but not as entertaining in my opinion]. After watching my cousin share the video featuring Camila Cabello in their IG story, I thought I would watch it. My assumptions were wrong, and I now understand why most videos garner millions of views.
It’s an entertaining game: the musical artist is given one word, and they have 10 seconds to sing a lyric contain that word or form of the word. In certain instances, celebrities are given a word to elicit the guest to sing their lyrics. [Again, self-promo] It’s impressive that some of these musical guests get a PERFECT score (15/15). I challenge myself and play along with the celebrity. Not to #humblebrag, I think I’m getting better at the game and want to play it with my friends to prove my musical knowledge. I already have ideas to do a variation of this game at parties/social functions. [Perhaps that will be another post.]
Trivia Bidet
If you watched the show freatured on last week’s WIWTW, “Bring the Funny,” you have probably heard of The ValleyFolk [side note: They made it to the Final Showcase round because of fan votes!]. They have a YouTube channel, and they have a segment called Trivia Bidet, the not-so-clean game that cleans your bottom. Basically, if you answer a trivia question incorrectly, your bare bottom gets sprayed via bidet. My favorite part is the toward the end of the video, the final round where the host (Lee Newton) picks a random crayon from the classic Crayola 96-pack and the contestant has to guess the color. The video below has guest stars, (Rhett and Link of Good Mythical Morning) and gives you a mild taste of this recurring series:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6dj3J1uxW8&w=560&h=315]What I find mesmerizing about this BuzzFeed Tasty series is the unconventional uses of the showcased appliance. Considering I have a rice cooker at home [the ICONIC staple appliance of any Asian household], this video really intrigued me. Chef Alexis deBoschnek always comes in with a high confidence level even though she’s only cooking with one appliance. The secret to making gourmet meals with a simple appliance? THE *UNSEEN* RESEARCH! Would I attempt to make these dishes at home? No, but one could dream.
Seungjae
My aunt introduced me to this child almost a year ago. I believe the [now] 7 y/o Seungjae is an iconic popular figure in South Korea in the series. He’s the son of a former 90’s K-pop boy band member and a doctor who cries at any form of harm or injury – seafood that will potentially be eaten (watch the video below), people acting as beggars, and more. His tearful moments are edited in a way, so that you not only perceive it as warm-hearted but also comedic. Although his time on the popular Korean show “The Return of Superman,” has ended, Seungjae is the most bright, intelligent, empathetic child I’ve seen. The playlist is linked in the title, but this is one of my favorite videos:

Thanks for reading [and watching]! I started my week reading more, which meant I spent less time on screen. [For once, I’m actually reading a book.] Yet the videos take over, and my week ended with a bunch of video binging, leading to this WIWTW content-heavy. Make sure you’re following me on Instagram (@jordaineenriquez) and submit your email, so you can be notified when I make a new posts just like this one.
As always, stay tuned for another WIWTW.
