I ususally have been posting this serial post on Sunday, but I speant this poast Sunday spending time with family and friends I haven’t seen in a while. Nevertheless, it’s a new day and I’m all about the newest and dated videos and movies I watched this week.
Eat Pray Love
As you know [and I continue to mention], I’m taking my time away from PT school to do some self exploration. Considering the movie’s plot is Julia Roberts finding her passions and love of self in Italy, India, and Bali, I thought I would benefit from this movie. No surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and gleaned a handful of inspiration, such as:
“Ruin is a gift. Ruit is the road to transformation.”
Liz Gilbert, Eat Pray Love
Did the movie try to persuade me in pulling the same stunt? Yes. I think every woman has the same feelings after watching the movie just as every woman wants to pack their bags and trek the Pacific Crest Trail after watching the movie WILD with Reese Witherspoon. Thank goodness for reality and my ability to come to my senses about my lack of money. If anything, I’ll just eat a bunch of Italian food and continue in my Bible studies. [I’m currently putting my love life on hold.]
Dancing With The Stars
The competition for the sparly mirror ball trophy is back again! I was not interested by the celebrity cast last year, but this season has some good pickings. After reading the comments, there’s some drama that comes with this season: producers gave the boot to two pro dancers, Sharna and Artem, as they were not, “partnered up with any celebrity.” While, DWTS creates the pairs on things like height and compatiability, but I feel that seniority should also be considered on a show like this. There are new pros dancing this season, but I feel as though they limit the celebrities’ potential to make far on the show. I speculate that the show experienced some budget cuts.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kewbJdeP3co&w=560&h=315]Aside from the poor and shaky camera angles from the premiere episode clips I watched on YouTube, here are my favorites that have potential to make it to the finals:
- Karamo Brown: He’s been dancing on his show Queer Eye and is able to dance to the rhythm compared to the other Fab Five.
- James van der Beek: He had the highest score of the night (and it shows)! This took me by surprise. With his looks and his dance moves, I wouldn’t be surprised if he won.
- Hannah Brown: The Bachelorette has the moves. She’s definitely gives the Melissa Rycroft vibes.
- Kate Flannery: We all love her as Meredith on the hit show The Office, but she’s not to shabby on the dance floor. The pre-dance practice montage paid that homage to her infamous show made it more entertaining.
So who’s the first to go home? I think everyone agrees it will be Sean Spicer or Lamar Odom. Though technically, Christie Brinkley went home before the show even started as she broke her arm during practice. Fortunately, producers allowed her daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, to take her place. For only learning the dance in three days, she did really well! I hope it wasn’t a one-time gig, and she stays for the season.
9/21/19
If you have been to weddings or a pro in line dancing like me, you may have heard of the song “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire. The iconic song contains the lyrics, “Do you remember… the 21st night of September…” and that say has come! Demi Adejuyigbe – comedian, writer of the Late Late Show with James Corden, and co-host of the infamous podcast The Gilmore Guys – turned this day into a spectacle as he dances to this song and gets a mariaci band involved!
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hpU6UEq8hA&w=560&h=315]This isn’t his first year putting on such a production, as he did it last year, but the best part is that he makes the event charitable. You can buy your own Sept 21 gear on sept21st.com
